For the calendar year 2011, Help Hotline Crisis Center Staff and Volunteers answered 159,746 calls. This equates to helping 454 people a day, everyday. This call volume ranks 2nd highest in the state of Ohio and is 14th highest nationally.
People call Help Hotline for many reasons. As the economy continues to struggle, unemployment numbers are still weak, and housing issues continue to be a challange, we will always look for ways to enhance our services and continue our mission of providing crisis intervention, suicide prevention and information and referral services for the citizens in our community and beyond.
Dear Friends of Help Hotline,
Last year we answered 159,746 calls. These calls came from elderly people with nowhere to turn for support, whose children left the area, people who have lost their jobs, teens dealing with all the issues facing young people today, persons who make a call that are considering ending their lives, and military persons or their families dealing with separation and loss. We are there for these callers and many more. Now we are asking that you consider being there for Help Hotline so we can continue making an impact in your community. We need your support to keep our programs operating. Please consider a tax-deductible contribution.
Sincerely,
Duane Piccirilli, CEO
