Crisis Intervention - Help Hotline Crisis Center is the 24-hour crisis intervention agency for Mahoning and Columbiana Counties. We are also the after-hours hotline for the Mahoning, Columbiana and Ashtabula mental health agencies.
Suicide Prevention - Help Hotline Crisis Center is a 24-hour suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention agency certified by the American Association of Suicidology.
To further enhance Help Hotline's services, the agency is active with:
- Mahoning and Columbiana Suicide Prevention Coalition - As a member of the Coalition, Help Hotline Crisis Center supports the mission of training gatekeepers to identify persons at risk such as teens, older adults and young adult males (ages 22-24). Early identification can lead to treatment and reduction of suicidal behaviors.
- National Suicide Prevention Line - Help Hotline Crisis Center works with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (1-800-273-TALK or 1-800-273-8255) to receive calls from local areas of the State of Ohio. We are also contracted to be a "surge center" for Lifeline should others become inundated with calls due to emergency situations.
- Survivors of Suicide Support Group - Help Hotline Crisis Center sponsors and facilitates this support group, providing a group setting that is available for families and friends of a person who has completed suicide and who are survivors of that tragic event. The group provides emotional support and the means for grief resolution following the aftermath of a suicide.
- Suicide Prevention Education - Help Hotline Crisis Center is available to groups, schools, and gatekeepers to provide information about suicide warning signs, intervention and resources available.
